I have been watching TED tv for a while now and this speech really speaks to me as an educator. I wish every teacher could watch this. It’s researcher Brene Brown discussing the power of vulnerability and the idea of being enough. Amazing.

I am currently reqading The Essential 55, by Ron Clark. I really like that his take on getting what you want out of students is to not just teach curriculum but rules about social engagement, not only make them better people but better reception of knowledge is also a side-effect.

I am also exploring Oakland University’s endorsement in Autism Spectrum disorder. I think adding more skillsets will make me a better teacher all around. I can’t wait for my meeting in January with the Dean.

I plan on being an artist in residence again this summer for lindyhop and african american history. I am very excited to teach dance to children again and do more of what I love teach!
